I was Popped in Minooka, Illinois which is a small town of about 4000 people just outside of the far Chicago suburbs. It was real because after it popped three times for me and two other visable cars, the normal radar detector went full blast and off to the right, a cop was sitiing back in a praking lot with gun in hand. Why would a rural rinky dink town have the latest technology in radar???

Sometimes my RX65 will alert to regular K or Ka band instant-on as POP a couple times before it figures out what it really is.

Small towns sometimes have the best that money can buy.

Its kind of funny because where i live it has been said that no one around here is using X band anymore but i know that X band is still being used around here like mad and i also know that some of the ST,s still use X band as well.

Maybe they are thinking that if everyone using a radar detector thinks that x band is not being used anymore that they will just turn off x band?.

Well, you gotta remember, *most* people are using Cobra, Radioshack, and Whistler. The majority of people don't have a clue what the different bands mean and don't even have the capability to turn X off. Cobra didn't even havae the ability to turn off X until the XRS 9600 and 9700 models.

good point.

However in my opinion i feel turning off bands is a real bad idea i have heard way to many storys of people turning off bands and getting tickets. This is why I will never turn off the bands on my detector.
