I believe they manufacture PNI's detectors.

Actually, Attowave makes the crap Rocky Mountain Radar detectors, not PNI.

I think that they also make Radio Shack's detectors

From the looks of them, they might make the "early warning" brand detectors too.

I was always happy with my voice alert by radio shack...

Mine had truly horrible range on K band. I was going down the road one day, see a cop, he flicks his lights on and goes after a car and only as I meet him did I get an alert on the Radioshack unit.

Well, in Hungary here is a dealer and he argues that his detector was in the SML test as Attowave. The detector called "Catch-i" here is its picture. http://www.traffipaxdetektor.hu/pic/catchi01.gif
I've bought one but need to change to a RMR.

I've tried that against a Traffipax Speedophot radar (it works on 24.125GHz/K Band, its power is 20mW, max. distance 45m/177feet).

Catch-i alerted me from 95m (311feet) from front and 19m (62feet) from behind before they could measure me...
It didn't get any signal from my RLT-500 tester on Ka Narrow Band.

62 feet! My only question is whether you were standing on the brakes with one foot or both feet.

Well, it's true that get a signal from a European speed-trap is hard because of the very low radiation but 62feet warning distance is enough to make a wide smile on your face for the album only. :)
