I got my V1, i love the finish/build quality. Anyways i took it for a spin in the city, i put it on Advanced Logic Mode, ...but it falses a lot near supermarkets and hospitals i noticed (K band).

The other thing that really really worries me, is I passed by Cop-central and about 8 other cops nearby my house...the V1 didnt beep at all, totally silent. Is it possible that all the cops didnt have their radar on??? Im scared

Keep it on the big L and don't start freaking out like Sethy. Yes, all of the cops had their radar off and enjoy the best radar detector on the planet Earth. :D

K-band falses are very normal on the V1 it's known for that de to 2 large attenna's. That is why most people recommend the X50 or BEL RX65 in the city, they false less. But the V1 time and time again has been recommend for road trips and highway use

if your detector is good and its picking up false alerts yes it is working properly...

supermarkets all have radar sensors on the doors theses use k band and if you have a radar detector it detecs k band...... the result you will get alaerts passed supermarkets! if you didnt i'd take the detector to be broke!

theses alaerts anoy most people sometimes they anoy me but at least you know its working....... if it just sat silent all the time you'd be worried that its not working!!

i soppse this is where the bogy counter comes in if you pass your supermarket daily you should know the false alert pattens and how many radars are operating!

the next day it reads 3 radar instead of 2 you know that there could be another sensor put up..........or a cop may be hiding in the radar falses hoping that if you have a detector you will ignore theses alerts!

like mike said take every alert as a threat until you find the sorce!

V1 K band automute section 7,b,g use a logic mode to activate it.
Then if you can't trust yourself to turn it to A mode in hot zones (kills automute) (strong signals override automute as well) then just crank up the muted volume and use logic (l) with regular driving.
At least this way falses won't be as loud.

I know that feeling. Belive it or not sometimes you'll even pass by speed traps where the cop is hiding, and nothingwill go off. Cops now adays love to use instant on very briefly... so very often you'll see cops, but they only shoot radar if they think they can nail you.

Around Cleveland very often you'll be on a 2-lane with a cop approaching from the opposite lane, you'll get a very very brief KA burst, then its over.... nothing before or after to warn you.

I've driven into police stations and had not a single detector blip.

In fact I remember back in the 80s when my father got one of the original escorts we drove around for hours looking for a cop to test it on. Didn't get a single blip... not even at the police station.

I have to agree with LaserBlaster about the " false" alarm issue. It is unfortunate and annoying that other devices operate on police radar frequencies, but as I stated in a previous post, your RD is doing exactly what it was designed to do and that is report anything on police radar frequencies. I feel lucky that it reports everything- this way I know it is doing what I spent my money for and that is as much awareness that I can get. Once again, in my opinion, there is no such thing as a "false" alert. An alert is an alert and I am glad that I have a RD that picks up these alerts. As always drive safely and happy motoring.
