Picked up a Bel v955

I was just wondering since the 955 is built somewhat on the same platform as the RX65 does it have the same issues like "service recquired" or "selfcal"?

Not that i know of, like as an actual "ISSUE". I wouldnt say its not impossible to have happen tho, it has those errors listed in the troubleshooting table in the 955 manual. So id say they could still happen. But as an ISSUE, like as in a HIGH percentage of them have it happen, no I dont believe it does.

congrats on your purches..you will not be dissapointed, as for me i use mine in highway all the time....city no X but most of the time when i am in the city i use autoscan.....cuts out allot of falses...unless you are right on the k or x band autodoor opener..

when i am on the highway, it is always on highway.....

I am getting increadible detection on K band and KA Band....3 mile K band straight road....

you will not be dissapointed at all...happy detecting..

Mine is the the S7 radar horn. was made on 1307....with revision 4.5

I saw where you can tell which type horn the 955 has, but how can you tell which revision you have?

while your unit is off, hold the 'mode' button and 'briteness' button down at the same time, then press the power button. This will reset you unit to the factory default settings and will display the revision.

Few more questions for you guys. I read that having POP set to ON will affect the radars sensitivity...is there any truth or proof of this?

Another question....kind of unrelated to the question in my original post, but I don't want to start another topic.

In the Guys of Lidar (GOL) March 2007 Radar Detector test, what revision, and what horn was the v955 tested?

V955 has the same horn and 90%ka detect capability of rx65,high cost performance!! 8)
