Default Will an STI detect a Spectre?

Sorry if this question has been asked before.

My new"ish" STi Driver usually pics up a cruiser about 1/2 mile away +/- but the other day it warned me just as I crossed the nose of a cruiser parked behind a sign perpendicular to the road. I turned it off immediately (with my panic switch) so I don't even know what band it was. I just know it scared the hooyee out of me because I thought the LEO might have heard the warning. they're illegal here.

I suppose it's possible the LEO was using IO, but later I thought my STi may have picked up his Spectre. Does the Spectre RDD send out a signal that can be picked up by the STI??

Don't worry about the short warning distance of a 1/2 mile. It is HEAVILY concealed and is not mounted anywhere near the windsheild. I don't mind sacrificing a little sensitivity for piece of mind.

The STi does not have circuitry to either look for or alert to Spectre RDDs. On the other hand your STi is completely immune from being detected by the Spectre.

It's a good question actually but i'll turn it around the other way...

What makes the STI immune to the Spectre III?

I know the Spectre can sniff out what the oscillator is transmitting from any RD because it's tuned to scan all that garbage. So what circuitry makes the STI stealthy or able to hide from Spectre? Or they using Alien Technology?

The STi will alert KA-Band when in extreme close proximity to the Spectre. We're talking inches here. Watch this video.

They sheild the oscilator pretty much so there is no leakage at all to detect.

Yes, but I was close enough for him to hear my remote speaker go nuts, LOL!!

    - foot activated kill switch.
    - backup steering column kill switch if pulled over.
    - power "yank cord" if stopped.
    - speaker and remote display mounted deep in vents.
    - STI mounted inside headliner at rear (tools would be required).

I'd take pictures, but what's the point? There's absolutely nothing to see!

    Haha wow, now that's stealth.

I suspect they are doing more than just shielding. My guess is they are shifting the Local Oscillator frequency or some other technique to make it undetectable.

If it was simply LO leakage and shielding was all that was necessary then we would see this in other detectors.

But of course this is just my educated guess.

There is more to it than just sheilding, the STI is a very complex design from what I've read on here but I know the STI doesn't shift the frequencys because spectre updates their RDD's for this very reason.
Witch is why spectre 4 still can't detect the STi
