Question BEL STi - will it work in Costa Rica?

I have a BEL STi (about 1.5 years old). I am wondering if there is any worthwhile to take it and use it while I will be driving in Costa Rica.

I got pulled over lasy year there (had no radar), as I was clocked going 114km in a 80km zone -- which was very true.

If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

I could not find what BANDs the cops in Costa Rica use.

I have no idea what they hit me with... hence, that's why I am asking.

As far as getting it stolen, I always take it away from the car, when I am not driving.

Just got back from Costa Rica.

The BEL STI did help me! Cops use the K band in Costa Rica (on the drive from San Jose to Limon. I put the radar in the corner on my car, and put a map over it.

So even when I drove "slowly" past them, they never saw it.

So for Costa Rica, they use the K-band, which the STi caught nicely EVERY TIME.

    What a great product!

Excellent info. Are RDs legal there? If not, any sign of a Spectre?

Also, does anyone know why there is not a sticky for radar bands used around the world, as opposed to just North America and Europe?

I am 99.9% certain that RD are illegal in Costa Rica, as none are sold in any store, and I have never seen one in any car. Hence, that's why I hid it under a stack of maps on my car's windshield.

As far as the Spectre, no idea. But I highly doubt it they use it there.

But isn't STi Driver "Spectre proof" and undetectable?

That was my point. If they use Spectres, then the STi is the only option for Costa Rica. If they don't, I could take any RD I might prefer with me if I go to Costa Rica sometime.
