I think it's pretty obvious they have a new remote model getting ready for production if they pulled the STi-R already.

That's the Passport 9500ci which already exists (minus the Ka segmentation feature of course).
Regards a new Escort remote model - take a cue from the REDLINE which is a clone of the Bel STi. No GPS, that's the province of the Passport models. A REDLINE remote will not have GPS. Too confusing! RD "hobbyists" (anyone we know?) would then be demanding GPS on the REDLINE portable.
As for Europe, what's to stop ESCORT Radar continuing with Bel as their "export" brand. They could sell STi and STiR "overseas" as any models they liked. The platforms are there to be marketed any way they wish. Assuming of course they employ anyone who can link "RD consumer demand" to "RD sales and marketing".
PS: Little "i" in STiR. Show some respect for the dead.![]()
Long live the Pontiac Fiero (and other great automobiles that were later killed by management after achieving greatness)...![]()

Thanks Lucky. Right, wrong, or indifferent, STealth install Remote sounds good to me!
From the owner manual for the STi-R;
The BELTRONICS STi-R is the most
advanced stealth-installed radar, laser and
safety detector ever designed.
That's where I came to my conclusion. How an STi Driver is stealth installed, who knows.
Belscort are a very strange company. Always have been and probably always will be.
If only Mr Valentine would get off his Ass and develop a stealth RD,
