Maybe the Escort Rep will chime in.

    You sir are correct.

You cover sending it to us, we cover shipping it back to you. If there is still a problem or another problem appears soon after the repair then we will cover shipping both ways.

...and the escort rep is telling the truth on that one. My STi was sent in 4 times, once (shipping) on me, the rest on Belscort. Excellent customer service.

I have sent many items though not many to Escort.

If it is Dell, they automatically send you the replacement with a box and return shipping label. That is how I like business to be done, but few companies do that.

The only other company that did that was EVGA after I posted about a video card in their discussion forum a few years ago. The first time they just sent the same card back to me with a sticker saying it worked, yet they never read my complaint that it rendered 2D fine, but artifacted like crazy in 3D. Regardless, they were very helpful the second time around because I found someone on their Forum who wanted to help.

Generally, if you have a valid complaint and they know it to be true, you can often request a shipping label be emailed. It does not hurt to ask, and many companies will do it.

That said, recently I have been too lazy and just willing to pay shipping for most items. Often times a padded envelope with USPS and Delivery Confirmation is all it takes for a grand total of $3 when you count the packaging materials, and I can weigh things and print shipping labels myself.

If I feel someone wronged me, I may pull the "I am going to make you pay shipping" card, but usually I am willing to ship something one way when we have an non-fault warranty claim. I.e. If I send it and you hold it for 6 weeks and send it back with the same problem, you are paying return shipping the second time. Otherwise, I am willing to ship it.

    I got my STi-R+ back
Well sort of, the antenna/reciever and interface is what I sent away and I got brand new ones back.
It must have fritzzed out big time.
I'm very happy One thing I noticed right away on my regular commute is the false alerts from automatic doors has changed frequency slightly.
Anyway i'm very happy to have my baby back
