    Default power cord

I just want to run straight cord that has that phone type of connection..The smartcord is really taking up to much space...Had to remove ashtray and stuff cord in that area...They sell a straight cord for direct connection.....I guess I could connect cig lighter connector to the cord right :?: :?: :?: Presto   More room :P I have RD above on visor so I run wire under and along side of interior...Don't want coiled wire

That's the only reason I have my detector hardwired, my lighter is right in front of the cupholder.

Does your car have a domelight? Why not just wire off of that?

Actually very simple, but if your car has a "dumb" domelight like my cars do, your detector would only work with the doors open  which is usually the only time you don't want it working...

If you have a little switch on it that lets you turn it permanent on, just solder the hot on the RD to something around the bulb, then solder the ground to ground.
