Got the STIr Plus NA... and its a blue display

Well. I finally got it and the display and control module with blue leds. Though you all might like some pics and some video.

Meh... I prefer red. They should give you the choice of red or blue displays... or do like they used to do, and have the Escort products w/blue displays and the Beltronics products w/red displays.

I almost bought the 9500ci a couple of months ago when I found a great deal on it. One thing that stopped me was the blue display that would stand out too much from the rest of the dash (BMW red/orange). Now STI-R is almost a perfect RD for me, except I can't stand that creepy male voice Beltronics uses on their RDs. If only we could transplant the Escort's female voice onto the STI-R - I would be all set. In the meantime, I'm just stuck with the Redline (red display and female voice).

My STi-R Plus arrived today, with a RED display and RED glowing controls... Thank god too, since I'm sporting an Audi and it blends perfectly with my red displays.

I didn't specify a color on my order.. I preordered from a Canadian supplier and this is what I was sent. So there are definately TWO versions of the STi-R+ out there. (yes, my system is US/Canada, and yes it updated the NA database with the beltronics software)

Just a heads up guys. I got the STI-r Plus switched over to blue. Its normally supposed to be red. I did this to meet the mood lighting in my g37.
