Default STI-R+ - Alert then display speed - can this be disabled?

One feature that is driving me crazy is that whenever I get an alert it displays my speed. I would rather see the strength of the alter than see how much over the speed limit I am going. Has anyone figured a way to disable the display speed feature after an alert?

I did the same thing fairly quickly after installing my Plus. When it goes off, I want to see the frequency, not my speed. I can look at my speedo for my speed.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Yeah, on my 9500s I used to have it on, then realized the frequency was MUCH more important.
