Bel Detectors with Escort Live

How can I find out which Bel Detectors are compatable with Escort Live?

I believe only the STI Magnum & the RX-65 are Live capable...I am unsure about the STI Driver.

I could have sworn I saw somewhere that EscortRadar said the vector's are incapable of working with the Live system.

Escort Live is only compatible with the following Beltronics detectors: GX65, RX65 (M4), STi Driver and Magnum.

Some old STi Driver and RX65 (M4) models may need to be updated by us before they can use Escort Live. With the detector in hand, please call us at the number in my signature below if you have one of these detectors and are interested in purchasing Escort Live.

Installed detector compatibility for Escort Live is being developed.

I just talked to escort, $99 to update my STi Driver to the Magnum firware to be able to do escort live.

Very old STi Drivers may need to be updated for Escort Live compatibility. The update charge alone is $79.95 so it would be worth the extra $20.00 to have it upgraded to a STi Magnum for the extra performance.

You can check if your STi Driver is compatible with Escort Live by resetting it and checking the version numbers on the display. Rev M9/A4 and above are compatible, M8/A3 are not. We began producing M9/A4 STi Drivers in May of 2006 (mfr code is roughly 2406 and higher) so there should not be many STi Drivers that require an update for Escort Live compatibility.

RX65 M4s with rev 6.3 and higher software are compatible with Escort Live. Again, reset the detector to see the software rev number. Software revs under 6.3 will need to have their RX65 M4s updated by us to be compatible with Escort Live. RX65s with the S7 antenna are not compatible with Escort Live.

I have a Bel STi Driver (mfr code 3407). It's been in twice for updates and currently shows M9/A5 on reset. So, I think it's Live compatible. My primary goal right now is to maximize Ka sensitivity to the Magnum level. If I purchase an Escort Live cord (either the coiled cord now or the direct when it becomes available), could I do a Magnum f/w upgrade without sending the unit in? If not, how much for the Magnum upgrade assuming already Live compatible?

Yes your STi is LIVE compatible. Even though the Escort LIVE cord will update the firmware in your STi, it will not change the sensitivity level of your unit. If you want to do that you'll have to send in your STi for the Magnum upgrade, it cost just under $100. For that you'll get a complete unit makeover, firmware update, factory calibration and testing, new Magnum case, power cord, suction cup mount/with cups. Best of all your STi will be set to its maximum sensitivity level for improved K and Ka performance.
