RX65 vs V995. RX65 discontinued, but V995 remains

Anyone have a preference for the RX65 or V995? Seems they discontinued the RX65 and the V995 remains. Wonder why Bel did this.

ive owned both 995 and rx65 and now pro300. the rx65 is hands down the better detector over the 995. and it has better features the 995 doesnt have...rx65 is all around better.definately

the RX65 S7 will be a cult classic for a while. Very good performance for a great price. I still use mine every other month.

I have the same question. Is it only the older models and the refurbs ? I have no prob buying a refurb RX65 S7 but don't see any on ebay @ the moment. Any other places to buy ?

i had s7 995 and m4 rx65. the m4 platform is the same if not better. it will say on the box or unit. s7 are rare nowadays and in my nopinion overated. i like m4 better but thats me...

Only the Refurbed RX65's sold by EscortRadar (or 2nd hand via private sellers) have the S7 antenna. This version went out of production in the latter part of 2005 and was replaced by the M4 version (we speculated back then that the M4 was a cost reduced version of the S7).

A comparison of the V995 S7 to the RX65 S7 is not an apples to apples comparison. The S7 version of the RX65 does something that no other Escort/Bel windshield mount has ever done..........it narrows the sweep on Ka band to just those Ka segments used in the U.S. and turns off the RDR Ka filtering in USA mode. This makes it the quickest, most responsive windshield mount ever produced by Belscort which also provides a nice boost in detection range.

Most people who think it's overrated never owned one.

The S7 version with have "S7" in the FCCID number on the label affixed to the bottom of the detector. The M4 version has "M4" at the end of the FCCID.
