Checked out the GOL tests.... very informative.

It seems no single RD is best at everything. Goes back and forth depending on what type of Radar is used. Even went back and forth between the RX65 and the STi units.

Although... OVERALL..... it looked like the V1 won more tests that the others.

Christ ! What the heck do I need to do.... buy THREE damn RD's ????

Want a Back-up RD. Plus concerned about coverage.... seems like some of the Bel RD's detect some things better than the V1.

And... I can use it in my wife's car.... cause I don't want her playing with "MY" High Tech V1 !!!

My 895 does this too. Has anyone talked to Bel about this or actually sent in a detector to have it tested by Bel? The 895 I have has picked up lots of radar including Ka but I can only remember it pegged out once while coming up to a HP on the side of the road with someone else pulled over.

On my V995 it has "pegged out" on "X" and "KA"....Seems to be as accurate as my 980 in that respect.

Other than the STi being "Undetectable", are the specs for the STi and the RX65 the same ???

I live in Maryland and it's NOT Illegal to have a RD, so I don't have to spend a larger amount for the STi, UNLESS..... it does have better performance than the RX65.

STi has K band filtering in city mode, rx65 does not. Not sure if that would matter, normally, Highway mode and Autoscan mode are the best anyways, but not to clear about any changes made to autoscan mode to the rx65 or STi. Rx65 has USA mode (Ka narrow), STi does not.
