Rear mounting location?

I am considering buying a Blinder unit. I want protection on the rear of my car also. Where could I mount the rear transceivers to be effective and be some what hidden?

I was thinking about leaving the rear ZR3 transceiver on the back and replacing the front ones with Blinder. I would be protected unless I got hit in the rear with Laser Atlanta Stealh mode (not likely) My ZR3 front sensor are getting worn and they don't have replaceable lenses like Blinder.

lol, I didn't know it was a contest. If it was a contest, I think you have the one up on me with that scanner. BTW, where did you mount the BCT8?

Well remember that a laser beam is 18" wide at 500'

Stand behind your car and look for the most sensitive areas and go out 18".

I understand about the laser beam width. Can't seem to find a mounting location for the Blinder transceivers on the back of my car that would be effective and somewhat hidden. I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. I just need suggestions for rear mounting locations, I'm out of ideas.

PS, have you figured out a way to get it past 215km/h 135mph? Friggin lawsuit-weary GM... :x

Thinking of the rear of a GP, the nice way would be to put it under the spoiler, the spoiler that is on the Anniversary (2002) / LE (2003) version, you know the one that has ribs underneath? I prefer the stock GP "flush whaletail" on looks though. But you can likely put it under the spoiler anyway, where it goes out over the trunk... but it would be very, very visible.

Perhaps you can hack with the taillights, they are built like a "tailight inside a tailight", you know what I mean.

Another hidden spot would be between the rear 3rd brake light and window, but this may be too high and "filtred" too much.

Hell yeah it turned into a contest once I seen your arsenal (in your signature). I no longer have the BCT-8 because the BCT-12 worked so much better for me. I Ebayed my BCT-8. I love the compact size and its effectiveness. In sniffes out them State Troopers very well. Well I MUST order a laser blinder for the rear as well now that you have a lser shifter in the rear :wink:

Not my car, but the body, and the 3rd to last picture give you a good shot of the back. When I get laser jammers, do you think it would be a good placement to stick them underneath that chrome strip at the back of the trunk?

As you have, I am sure, already determined - the laser transponders should be placed in close proximity to the most reflective surfaces on the rear of the vehicle. These are generally the license plate and the tail lights.

The best way to actually see what's most reflective is to use a flash light at night an illuminate either the front or the rear of your automobile(s).

If you are experiencing placement difficulties in the most optimum areas, you may want to coat your taillights and plate with the Veil you already have thereby reducing/eliminating their contribution to the visual signature of your rear.

This may allow you greater flexibility in placement of the two Blinder transponders.
