Hi all,
I am going to get a blinder sytem installed and had a previous post re head placement on my 2004 Audi A6. Many responses and advice was provided. Thanks a bunch for the help.
But I have seen many people state "NEVER place the heads behind your grill" but the Blinder site itself states that the heads are designed to be mounted BEHIND the grill.
Obviously, if I had an aftermarket mesh grill with tiny openings mounting behind would not be a good idea. But I have an '04 A6. The grill has wide open slots in it. The heads would fit into the grill perfectly if they were only about half an inch shorter. I'm not too keen on cutting my grill if not required as most people would be.
So, does the entire front face of the heads need a clear view of the road or are there sections in the heads that are simply housing for the transmitters that a vertical section of the grill could pass in front of without interfering with performance? If so, would I get better performance by cutting the grill so the heads could be mounted flush with the grill rather than half an inch back?
Thanks again everyone,
Frizzlefry
