Riptide:
I've never seen that Harpoon IPA around the stores here. But I always love trying a new IPA. Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Double IPA is my "go to" standard. But I've recently found a Hercules Double IPA (10 percent by vol) that is my "special treat" IPA. Dang I love living in the Pacific Northwest where awesome craft beers are a right, not a privileged.
Regarding the videos:
My only complaint is with the 2nd video. The Sony Handycam's AutoFocus had difficulty staying focused with no ambient lighting. So to my eye it looks like the IR output is a bit out of focus so it makes it look a little bigger, like the IR light source is "blooming" (it's a TV term for an unfocused white light source on a black back ground). But that doesnt really effect light intensity. So I'm going to try reshooting the 2nd video and see if I can disable AutoFocus or use just a tiny bit of background lighting to help the AutoFocus stay locked in.
I'm actually quite excited to see some results when some of our fellow CM enthusiasts get a chance to put the hardware through a proper battery of tests. For me personally, comparing LI vs Blinder is kinda of tough. I can appreciate the merits of comparing hardware Vs hardware performance. But for me performance Vs value/cost is a huge factor. Mainly because I know not all CM users are swimming in money, so we sometime have to base our choices on "how much performance do I need Vs how much performance can I afford?"
Man I would kill to see/do a full on breakdown comparison of power output, jamming performance & cost analysis. But to do it properly would require time and special equipment that is beyond me at this point. Call it a geek's wet dream.
