No when you have a spoiler on a FWD Car it reduces performance and does absolutly nothing for you. Believe me. A RWD car yes but, on a fwd car they may think it does good but it doesn't do anything or in some cases makes it worse. Do you know how a spoiler works with a RWD? Or do you know how a Spoiler works. With that knowledge you should know why it doesn't do anything on a FWD car.

And I know supras are good racing cars but you can still make any car like that ricey imo. I think that this guy is looking for looks not performance. If he raced his car all the time and was looking for pure performance then I would tell him to go with big spoiler but I think it looks much cleaner and better looking with that smaller spoiler.

My neighbor had this exact car albeit with ~$15,000 put into it. (I honestly don't remember anymore how much exactly)...

What you are reffering to is the 'Active-Aero' package... Not only does the rear-wing move, the front end of the car has a little 'plastic piece' (actually its large and extremely solid) that essentially 'lowers' the front end of the car, to reduce airflow under the car (which at high speeds can make the car lift up, and produce drag along the jagged-underparts.) This could be turned off manually if you wished. Very very cool.

Those cars where a marvel of 'Japanese Supercars'... more luxury and technology-packed then the 3 other supercars from Japan, which made it a bit heavier, and somewhat slower.

    My neighbors looked amazing.

^ That's right!!!! I totally forgot about the frontal aspect of that package!

I'm a long-time DSMer, as you know, so these "big brothers" of the DSMs have a special spot in my heart....but it's just been so long! Thank you!

    Not necessarily.

It's not all about traction - rear-lift is an aerodynamic phenomenon, and one that can affect a vehicle regardless of which wheels are responsible for propulsion.

At high speeds, a loose rear end, no matter if that end is supplying the car with propulsion, can be trouble.

Even FWD cars can benefit, in that manner, from a properly designed rear wing or spoiler.

The same goes for your statement about the "small wing" add-on to the OP's vehicle.

Under different circumstances, different types of aero enhancements perform differently.

Even a very small "lip" on the trunklid can drastically change the aero behavior of the car at-speed. Witness what was done to stabilize the first-generation Audi TT.

Furthermore, in these days of high-technology and aero-manipulation, on many vehicles, such obvious aero enhancers/reinforcement is actually completely un-necessary. Look at the Ferrari Enzo.

Certainly, big wings have their place, but even small changes can count a lot.
