For such tanks, BMW gets them moving pretty quickly...

    Funny story:
I got to ride in a 760Li... I could not believe the acceleration that monster had.

Sure M3's, M5 and 760li's aren't fast by any standards in acceleration (errr quick then), but they sure aren't lumpy-dumpy in the motor department.

E46 M3 is still no slouch 9 years after introduction. (2001-2006 models)
0-60 rated @ 4.7 seconds for manual coupe

In context, a 2010 Nissan 370z which is supposed to be a proper sports car, 2 seats and all is also about 4.7 seconds 0-60

Comparing slow to slow is just that... comparing who isn't as slow. You said it YOURSELF... it was supposed to be a proper sports car. Give Mid-1990's RX-7, Supra TT, 3KGT VR-4 over that 370z any-day... yuck.

So I would have to again state, they are not fast/quick by any means in today's automotive industry, but they are pretty shocking for their tank-selves.

Stock to stock, the 370 is faster than all those cars ... 0-60, 1/4, proper track ... it also weighs less than a VR-4 or last gen Supra. The 3000GT's got close to 4,000 pounds.

I'm sorry the E60 M5 that does a factory rated 4.2 seconds 0-60 is not considered "fast by any standards in acceleration".

Anything that does sub 5 second 0-60 stock is fast in my book. I guess people on this forum all drive LP640s, 1000hp supras, and Bugatti veyrons. Shiet I'll go back to my local forum!!

All I know is the Vette at 4.1 0-60 is all I want. It gets hairy quick when you get into this thing. Things start coming at you QUICK!!!

What's even more fun is 40 -100 in the length of a tractor trailor when passing. Wow that's fun!!
Valentine One (3.858 Ice Cream Truck, 3.812 in Vette)
4 Head LI (On Vette) (7.11 CPU Regular heads front, HP Heads on the rear)
    9500ci (On Vette)

LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)

LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)

ProLaser II, ProLaser III, Stalker LZ-1, LTI Marksman & Laser Atlanta "R" (looking for an Ultralyte LRB)

    2008 Corvette Z-51 Coupe

    Escort 9500 ix (Cadillac SRX)

I never said anything regarding any of what you just said... anything, never claimed any of those were faster lighter, etc... I know their specs captain obvious? There is a period between my saying it was supposed to be a sports car... and then what I would rather have... so not sure where you were going with your line of thought?

My point was: Those cars have true sports car potential IMO that the 370z does not, since they have been out nearing 2-decades now... you can literally do anything under the sun 'with ease' to them. Sure you can to the 370z too, but the cars I listed have a cult following because they can easily compete with true super-cars, their platforms are made for it. Plus I think they are look beautiful, which I cannot say about the 370z.

The 370 is a POS... bottom line IMO. A sad excuse for a sports car...

Honda Civic or a Kawasaki Super-bike depending on the day...

Well that bike or one of the other 3... depending on what I want, and technically that (aforementioned) bike is going to be a track bike next season with motor work being done right now.

So either the Civic or one of the bikes... Any particular reason for asking though?
