When the only detector you've ever owned is a Cobra of course you'll say its good, but now that I ditched my 9700 for an STi, I'm definetly believer that the top 3 are the way to go.Ku isnt coming anytime soon. for the 149 you paid you shouldve gotten the wistler Pro 73 or save up up and get the Bel V995 which has Ku. you would shocked at how better the detection is once you lose the Cobra.

Just bought Cobra XRS9985 from the RadioShack. On the back side of the plastic box I found the following warning note:
This product contains lead, a chemical known to the state of CA to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
Is this normal for all radar detectors or just for XRS9985?

My v1 doesn't say that. You might wanna return that paper weight for a real RD.
Ahhhh. The lead RD. Now heavier then ever and dangerous to your health. "Nothing Comes Close To A Cobra"Originally Posted by Wonder

most circuit boards are switching to lead-free solder & components. I know in some countries lead is completely banned. One way to tell a PCB that is lead free (at least in my experience) is that the board is usually blue rather than green.
"Known to the state of California" can always be translated to "We have to put this on here, but it can be disregarded".Originally Posted by Wonder
Police radar would probably be cancer causing according to California if it didn't make them so much money.
