BTw I had a nice radar reception this morning on the 37 meg range. Picked the policeman up in plenty of time. The leo likes to sit in one certain spot.

That's definitely good to know on the range. On the Pawn Shop note that's were I found my last V-1 for a great price. The 3.872 with it's case and a concealed display but ended up selling it,wish I never did that because it would've been a lot cheaper to upgrade than my 3.824 version I'm using now. What version was causing you all those tickets?
nope you probably shouldn't have. Great resource to have all those pawn shops around you.
My v1 is a MUCH older version. It was suppose to be the king for detecting K-band at the time. Well I got two k-band tickets and neither were I/O
that is why I take other people's claims for detector performance with a grain of salt now.
Sounds like your old V-1 went out of tune.Did it even detect the K band radar when you got both of those tickets?
It detected both signals but not at even close to the level my old whistler SE use to pick them up. Hardly any ramp up before hand and then BAM
These older v1 didn't have a good tuning system this is true but Mike V NEVER informed his users of this !
I don't believe this was the reason though
They were just a bit off axis shots in a some difficult terrain
switched to a Bell detector and never had those problems again
I would say look around for a V-1 that has the Crystal Controlled Frequency Tuning in it at some pawn shops but it will at least have to be a version 3.782 or higher to have that circuit inside my friend.
Good luck on your quest.Let me know the outcome when you find one,my friend.I would say E-Bay they have plenty of those units.
