Is the RDR setting of the STi-R comparable to the Ka Guard setting of the V1?
In theory, yes. With either Ka guard or RDR off, any Ka signal = an alert without any time/effort to identify if it is police Ka or leaky detector Ka.

Thank you for doing these tests! Glad I have both in my arsenal.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I had mine inside my car for about a month until I got around to mounting it on the outside. It seemed to hurt the range.... When it was inside the car v1 was beating it slightly, every time. On the outside of the car the STI-R slightly edges out or ties V1.

    Thanks guys. Great videos.

What happened to the STi-R against 35.5 with RDR off? (Second video)

After doing this test, I have no doubt that Escort/Bel could make any of their detectors detect QT. It seems like a matter of choice for Belesort at this point.

Thank you for posting this video. I was considering an STI-R and now I'm going to get one.
