I've been using the "DR-V9" I got from www.gospycam.com last year. However... past tense, the suction cup mount uses a locking arm instead of the normal suction cup arm and it broke. I was moving it between 3 vehicles fairly often. I haven't been able to find anything that will mount to the camera body yet. The original bracket was annoying too, in that it only had vertical angle adjustment. I would have liked a swivel mount. I posted a few sample clips on youtube since I couldn't find any others at the time.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opo1YVu_gZM]YouTube - "DR-V9" dash cam footage[/ame]

I used a 16GB SDHC card and usually got 5-6 hours on it.

I've been looking for something like that for awhile now whatevah, thanks for posting about it! Will have to look into perhaps getting one not just for encounters but in case of an accident you'd have video proof.

Default Dual View DVR with GPS

I just ordered this dual view (exterior/interior) camera with GPS logging. I didn't care too much for the exterior design of the DVR but I couldn't pass up all the bells and whistles this device offers for the money. The DVR looks big but it's the size of the Apple IPhone. The DVR device goes under different names such as SafeBox120 , Dual Car Camera Voyager Pro w/ GPS Tracking Logger, Dash Cam Dually, and DV400. It is available from web sites in the US.

The DVR has features such as automatic event recording, speed tracking, GPS logger, audio recording (inside car), compass, G-Force indicator, LED lights for night viewing inside the car, voice instructions, Google Map compatible, 2GB SD card and USB SD card reader. There is a discrepancy on maximum capacity of the storage card that the Firmware supports. One review said 16GB and another mentioned 32GB card. It's a little pricey but I found it under $300.00.

Gadgeteer has a review on the unit.

I will provide more details of the DVR once it arrives and I test it out.

It'd do fine for daylight encounters, you can get an idea of the video quality from the youtube clips I have. Just don't take the bracket off the windshield too often and it should last a long time. Oh, if you click on the video and goto the full youtube site, I have 2 more videos, one with day and night footage and one driving in the snow at night. The audio quality isn't very good, but all the noise in my clips is from having a straight exhaust on my Jeep (headers and cat, no muffler).

I got this and it works well once you get beyond the ENGRISH INSTUKSHENS.

There is a bug in it that every once in a while it will lock up and he only way to fix it is to save what you want and format the card. A 32 GB will loop 10hrs of video as stated with good video quality and visible time and date stamp.

Since I have an HD for most of my good vids I have not had a reason to post anything from this camera yet. (I can get 10 hours non looping HD [1080p] from a 32GB card as well so depending on the situation is where the 32GB card is)

The IR lights up RED at night so it says either steal me or fear me depending on your neighborhood. The mount is a low quality suction cup mount.

It records 2 -3 minute files and then starts a new one with no apparent delays.

We will just have to see if I have a situation worth presenting. (I did have some great skip CB contacts from GA and FL to AZ)

Default DV400 Dual Camera DVR with GPS logging

I use the DV400 dual camera with DVR and GPS. The DV400 has a lot of features for the price. The software tracks speed, direction, and GPS location, and works with Google Maps.

It has 2 built-in cameras (1.3 Mega Pixels) that record 640x480 video. One camera records outside the vehicle and the other records the inside of the vehicle with audio. The inside camera is wide angle and has 4 infrared LED's for night time recording. You do have the option of turning off the camera inside the vehicle. You can set the recording for events only or continuous recording. The continuous recording feature overwrites oldest files first after it fills up the card. If you set up for events, it will save them in a separate area to avoid deletion. The camera does record before and after an event. The camera has a built-in battery to keep the camera on for a few seconds after the ignition is turned off. This allows the files to finish saving to the card to avoid corruption. The camera also allows you to set the G-Shock sensor in case you want to record accidents. The camera also provides voice instructions and tells you when GPS link has been established.

The camera comes with 2GB SD card and a USB card reader. The 2GB card performance was very good. I tried using a 32GB SDHC card Class 6 but there was a little hesitation in the video. I returned the card and purchased a 32GB Class 10 SDHC card and the videos look great.

The camera software does work with Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 based on my experience installing and using it. The software can be found on the SD card that comes with the camera.

The camera is very small and comparable in size to an Apple IPhone. I have the camera hardwired and hanging behind my RVM. I purchased the camera for just under $300.00. It may not be the nicest design but it does a good job for the price. You can find video samples on the internet. The camera can be found under various names such as Dash Cam Dually, DV400, and Voyager Pro.

    • Integrated Google Map window

That looks amazing. Any pics of it in your car? Did it come with a hardwired kit and does it come on automatically when you turn on your car, as in no input required from driver?
