400 miles:
@ 50 MPH = 8 hours
@ 80 MPH = 5 hours.
so besides all the danger and "reckless" talk about going 80.
WHAT ABOUT THE FATIGUE in the last 2 hours of that 50 MPH drive?
Using the above example the 80 MPH guy was 1 hour PLUS, into his destination, out of the car, where sleeping and nodding off, isn't a car wreck waiting to happen.
This is what people fail to see IMHO.

X2... not to mention the fact that driving for 1+ hour at such slow speeds tends to induce fatigue/boredom, causing people's minds to wander, they pay less attention to the road and more attention to their cell phone/passenger/text messages.
At least when you're doing 80, you have to be watching the road.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

I have seen many times where I have been speeding and actually got better gas mileage than other times when I was obeying the PSL.
When you start pushing 10+ over the PSL you will start saving some time, but if caught get ready to pay the fine, if you do the crime get ready to do the time.
For example.
PSL is 65 mph
1200 miles one way trip going 65 mph= around 18 hrs
75= around 16 hrs
85=around 14 hrs
95= around 12 hrs
I'll stick around the 75-85 area 95 and above is just too much for me.
On the highway, sure it's easy to save plenty of time, on surface streets you'll save very little time, you almost always end up at the same stop light as the people you've just passed.
