inconsistent ka?

has anyone else received inconsistant ka detection with the x50? REV 5
it seems to happen quite a bit with mine.. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem

ive gotten 5 second alerts, and i haev gotten 2 minute alerts. this goes for both the v1 and the x50.

KA is a tough nut to crack.

between ALL the many variables out there it's hard for any detector sometimes... hills, trees, distance, angle, a turn/bend in the road, instant-on vs constant on, surroundings, direction, etc etc etc. so it's really hard to tell if the thing is really messed up or operating normally if you know what I mean

yea... example last night there was a car pulled over ont he side of the road.. i saw the lights from far away... a SLIGHT hill, and i do mean slight.... then about 100 feet from the patrol car. KA brap single bar.....then RIGHT after the single bar, it was like an instant on shot and went right to full blast.... this wasnt instant on because the leo was out of his car... and as i passed the car, my x 50 kept alerting to it, so it was def. constant on, but i didnt go off until it was RIGHT on top of the patrol car.....

I know what you mean. My X50 was all over the place with constant on Ka. Sometimes I would get great detection distant other times not much at all. Never had this problem with my original 8500 or my STi.

it wasnt because of the car in front of it..... because the radar signal was emitting a clear line of sight. it was def. something goofy about that.
