I bought an old escort radar detector off of e-bay "as is". After 150 hours it will quit. I need to know where I could buy a digital key or if anyone knows how to get around it.????

Best person to ask that I know of is Jimbonzzz.
I don't believe that any digital key will work.....it has to be programmed for that particular detector.Originally Posted by light2
I have two old ones and one wont work on the other.
The reason for the key was that when it locked and was returned to Escort for repair, it could be returned to the owner if he had called and reported it stolen. Mine was stolen and I called Escort, and was told that they no longer did that and that if it was sent in for repair, the locking feature would be eliminated and it would be returned to the theives . It was the last Escort product I will ever own. You may still be able to return it to Escort for this locking feature to be eliminated although it may not be worth what they charge.
You can't send it to Escort and have it done. They don't do it anymore because they no longer have the necessary hardware.
These detectors with the keys were actually made by Cincinnati Microwave, and the assets were sold to Escort Inc. when Cincinnati Microwave went bankrupt. They used to still have the hardware to do this, but unfortunately it got thrown out.
But, I have heard that if you call and ask them about it, they'll offer you a coupon in exchange for your old detector...
