Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm still waiting on escort to call me back with an answer. I asked him to please talk to there engineering people and please be honest about the problem that I'm haveing. He said he would call me back  He did say I could send it back and maybe the techs might find a problem. I told him it's to early they will find nothing wrong. I will wait a few more weeks intill the truth comes out!!
I believe a lot of the 9500 do not work using the lock out. I believe A lot of users will lock out a true k band from a leo in the lock out spots.
Walgreens false k band is 24.133 and the k band cop in my area is 24.166 Thats just a .33 differents. I believe the two are just to close together. A false alert will sway a little. So after you lock it out when you come back to that false area again the detector will alert to the false. What gives?

I have a feeling the problem is worse than we think.

Yesterday, I was on base doing some errands. When I pick up a strong X band signal. What happened next shocked me. As I got close to a known, K band false the X band alert went away.

So I was like no way.

Went back and did this 3 times, and each time the X band would die as soon as the satellite starting spinning.

Put the unit in Expert mode, turned off the GPS filtering. Sure enough, I was getting K & X band alerts.

I called Escort again today, and they where irritated with me. So I just sent the stupid thing back. I'm not gonna beta test a 480 dollar piece of equiptment.

You possibly lockout K band in the area and if you did not use expert mode, it will only show K band and no X band because escort has the priority alert. There is also a possibility that during your K band lockout, the X band signal was turned off or too weak. At the point where the Sat icon started to spin means that you got a stronger signal in K band which you lockout. What you should have done was to lockout X band too and see what happens next.

You did not give the 9500i a chance to do what it can do due to the fact that there where 2 different bands at close proximity and considering the escort has a priority alert in spec mode or standard mode.

When you choose to Lockout a signal, all of the X and K band signals that the unit is detecting at that moment, in that location, will be locked out. The RD only alerts to the highest priority, strongest signal. If there are several X bands and just 1 K band, the RD will alert K band, if you lockout the K band at that time all of the Xs will be locked out as well, along with any other K bands that are close in frequency and fall within the lockout region.

I believe he is saying that he never locked out the X. He only locked out the K. I feel the X should have still alerted since the K was a known false and appropriately locked out.

The false K at that specific frequency and location should be interpreted from TrueLock to not exist. The new X regardless of band priority should have continued to alert through the false TrueLocked area.

In essence the TrueLocked K signal, since it is a false, does not exist.

Once I lost confidence that all this new technology had issues, I couldn't trust the 9500i. Secondly, I feel it suffers in range. It maybe so bad at K and X detection that the 7500 might be better. I know the X50 is better. Sad.

I understand what he's saying about NOT having chosen to lockout the X band signal. What I'm trying to inform all about is how the RD really works. When you opt to use the lockout feature all of the X and K signals that the unit is currently detecting will be locked out. So if the unit is alerting a K band signal and you opt to lock it out, any other K or X band signal that the unit is actually detecting will also be locked out. Additionally, the lockout region will extend beyond the distance of the farthest detected signal, even if the user isn't aware that the detector is seeing a distant X or K band. Expert mode can help, but there are limitations in the Expert mode's accuracy at displaying multiple signals.

oh, I see. Well this is not what happened. The unit always asks if you would like to lock out MULTIPLE signals. I locked out the K band door about a week beforehand and had not been back since. Thus I was getting the X Band alert. And found it very strange that as soon as the satelite started spinning the X band alert went bye bye.

I would be getting dual X & K band alerts when I had the gps filtering turned off. If I turned GPS filtering ON, it knocked out the X-Band alert and went silent as soon as it started filtering the K band door I had set.

I had it in H mode, so the speed was not an issue. And while using expert mode you can see multiple alerts, so I don't know what someone was talking about.

I think this is a huge problem and if my 30 days where not up I would of video'd it.

There is a possibility where X band was not turned on at the time he lockout the K band source and another possibility is X band was too weak. If X band was say on the west side of K band during the lockout and he lockout K band from the the very site where the K band source was and went eastward instead, he won't be able to pick up or lockout X band if both bands where on. I agree with insider that the 9500i has the ability to detect different bands at the same location providing that it picks up a good signal. In this case, you have a point where one band really fades it's signal and it's common sense that it will stop alerting you of it's presence. If both band signals where strong, the 9500i could have lockout both.

How strong was the signal in expert mode? Do you think X band was off during the lockout a week before? This is where the big question is.
