Would you happen to have a part # for that " Add A Fuse", I really like that install. Think I may get one myself. I see that it's a maximum of 10amps, do they make larger amps besides 10?
Dont know the part number but it took maybe 2 mins to find it in the local advance auto. They only carried 10amp max of either standard or mini fuse. Hope that helps. As for the mount, I like it there to mute easy and see easy as well as I can hide it with my visor when going through VA, Im in the dc area.

    Orbital75 -

You should be fine, as the RD is typically very, very low-draw - but *honestly* I always prefer to route such accessories through "non-critical" systems.

That way, if something *does* God-forbid go wrong, unexpectedly, you'll only have to worry about a non-critical accessory being down'ed, and not something vital.

My cigarette fuse is 15 amps.....
The fuses used in my car are the ATC style. ( Large Blade ).

There is a 10amp fuse beside my cigarette fuse but it's an Engine fuse.
If you scroll up a few posts, you will see a photo of my Fuse Box. That
Red fuse beside the blue one is a 10amp engine fuse. In The past,
I've always ran everything through the Cig fuse. Would it be safe
to use the engine fuse? How much power does the detector need?

to answer your question........ no more than 2 amps......... its fused at 2, so probably around 1-1.5 amps nominal draw
