It's been asked a million times.
I am not worried about laser at all.

here is where my RD is now.



Now I want to get it hardwired, BAD, but hate dealing with buying stuff through the internet, I wish they sold the equipment at a store.
Anyway, I was wodering if I should put it above my RVM.. plus I kinda want it out of the way and not as obvious.

SO MY QUESTION IS: (Don't really need an explanation):

Where is your x50, if not worried about laser?

Anyway.....

As high as I could go while still placing the main antenna window below the tint band, directly left of the inside RVM.

I prefer this placement because it's high (I've got my laser reception covered by my LPP/ZR3 combo) - and also because it allows the detector to sit close to my natural line-of-sight, while still getting it out from "under" the RVM (where I have a natural blind-spot to perpendicular/intersecting traffic from this mirror).

I've secured the hardwire (ZR3 interface remote) to the RVM's attachment pillar for additional safety, via a ZipTie.

I'd mount it above, resting on the RVM. That way it won't bounce as much.

Also, you can get a hardwire kit from Circuit City. Even though it says it is for a Beltronics, it will work perfectly with your X50

You can also try what I've done, too - which is to bend the bracket so as to have the detector tightly up against the windshield glass, which also allows it to be "bounce free."
