Best Buy Replacement Clarification

FYI-

You can purchase a replacement plan for any radar detector.
When the 9500 first came out there were some issues where you could not get it. With x50 and the 9500 since they do not fall into the price bracket the replacement plan has to be manually keyed. This means the employee must key the sku of the replacement plan the computer will then ask them for the sku of the product.


If you want the prp...which i see no reason why you wouldnt just make sure they manually enter it.

I have talked to a few different BB's around me. I have talked to the customer service managers and they have STOPPED carrying the performance plans. Many sales people do not know this and try to give you the PP, but it is wrong.

Case in point -

Notice how on the Alpine deck, there is an option to purchase the Service plan under "More options."

Was I arguing? I was just stating what I have been told at numerous BB's and then backed it up with the links that were removed.

Valid comment about it being Roy's site, but after all it's a FORUM. Just because somebody bought their RD at BB doesn't mean they can't participate in the Forum and discuss the issues that they have with their RD. For example, the thread could conceivably end up where everybody who bought at BB had a bad experience and an end result that Roy would benefit. If Roy has a problem with people discussing RDs they bought somewhere else, then let Roy step in. In the absense of guidelines from Roy, arbitrary censorship is bull****. I bought my 9500i at BB 'cause I had a bu**load of store credit. They wouldn't sell me the plan either. I SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I GOT SCREWED by them not selling me a plan.

I was simply stating that i do not believe this topic should be on how to purchase a prp from bby that is all. By the way if you must know you can get a prp on the rd because I sell them on them all the time.
