    Default Adding On

    Hi All,

After a nice computer repair job I did I got enough to get me an X50 BLUE Now this is my second time owning an X50, but this time it is permanent. Now I have 1 V1, 1 RX65, and 1 X50.

I have named it Xavier The Savior because not even 15 out of the box and set up I got about 3 seconds warning coming up a steep on ramp to a CHP helping a disabled vehicle (rear antenna on and facing me) not bad IMO under the circumstances.

Then not 30 minutes from that I come upon a CHP off to the side with his gun on (CO) and I was really impressed with the ramp up the X50 has! I felt it gave an excellent alert given the distance it went up rather qucikly but didn't skip like my 65 always goes from 1 to 9 somehow. I had the meter in STD.

That alert was about a good 0.8 -0.9 miles. It was at full alert before I could even see the CHP on the side. The road was flat and straight but I am very impressed. I was gong 75 and the PSL was 70 so ample time to slow down to 65 Can't be to gutsy you know.

No arrows but I will take it. Of course, I have it using my V1 set up and cords. Works perfectly for those who are in the same boat. I am using the scrolling + sign and I love it Plus the blue matches my sonia (sonata) of dark blue.

Also, I went by my K band YSI (Your Speed Is) course and it alerted to all of them a little less then the V1 does but far more then the RX65.

I will post some video of it once I get my V1 tutorial videos completed here soon so be patient.

I must say, the X50 is a winner in my book. I've had mine for 3 years now
and I have never received a ticket. It's always given me fair advanced warning
and even in an " Instant On " scenario has preformed amazingly.

For example: Yesterday I was driving down a local road getting ready to
jump on the Interstate when all of a sudden my detector gave me
1, 2, 3, bars of K Band warning. There was no leo in site and I was approaching
a 70 degree turn. As I turn the corner Full K band alert and there was the Leo......

I must say the X50 has some very good Off Axis detection range.

    I'm very pleased .........

    Good to hear Orbital.

That has been the quickest KA encounters I have ever gotten from getting a detector (and on the same day no less). Partly because of GOL's tests I decided well let's see if it is true and so far I am inclined to agree it is. Can't vouch for off axis but give me time at this rate it should be no time flat!

Congrats on the blue. You are now officially a "scanning dot college boy."

I am jealous about your frequent encounters!!!!!!! I get an average of about 1 Ka alert a week nearly all of those are stupid encounters (cop sitting at a stoplight perpendicular to me...cop running radar but I never see him...)

After a few weeks, you'll have to write up a comparison (RX-65 vs. V1 vs. X50.)

Yeah I love my scanning dot

Well I don't ahve frequent encounters really just good timing on this one. In reality you get more than me because I am lucky to get 1 KA alert a month! Seriously

Well I am thinking of doing a review between the three. Maybe I will do a written review since I am much better at writing versus video taking

    Thanks

    Ace
