Escort 9500i - did not go off and trooper gave me ticket

That sux, Next time you question if he used radar, ask to see the target speed on his radar equip. What was your speed and how accurate was he with the speed he put on the ticket?

LEO's don't always save the speed on the radar. Besides, he doesn't have to show you anything. My bet is he saw the RD and made a bad stop. Curious, was he correct with the speed he sited for?

I think you have that backwards. Every day that goes by with no Truelock tickets proves you wrong and me right. The odds of getting a ticket because of Truelock are so low, they aren't worth even considering. That's the truth.

There has however been a recent example of someone turning their volume all the way down due to false alerts and then receiving a ticket. If this member had been using Truelock, he would never have had to turn his RD down at all. There was also a close call reported on here for the exact same reason, but I won't count that one since he didn't get a ticket. So, now you need a Truelock ticket just to break even. Good luck!

Lets nip this Truelock thing in the bud -- now! The Escort 9500i will set a lockout radius of 1000 feet or less as long as the signal which you lock out doesn't exceed 1/2 strength on the display at the moment of locking it out and until you drive far enough away to exit the lockout area. The 9500i Truelock works just as intended -- locking out falses as you drive by them and not by driving into a parking lot and then right up to the false alert source(s) before locking out the signal(s).

Driving right up to false alert sources such that the signal is over half strength to full strength will automatically set a lockout radius of 1/2 mile and, if the signal is strong enough (signal strength meter pegged out a full strength), can and likely will cause additional adjacent frequency blocks to also be locked out due to signal saturation in the antenna.

Needless to say, the 9500ix automatically handles things much better, and uses completely different Truelock algorithms which address these potential issues.

I have my facts. They're formed from experiencing LEO lockouts in more than one location, different days - far from falses. I don't need any of your BS facts to sway me after EXPERIENCING what I preach first hand. Others have as well, and your claim that every day that goes by without a ticket reported on this forum is proof you're right (as I said before) is irrellevant. Whats true is that I have FACTS that its failed to alert to real LEOs far from FALSES on more than one occasion..and YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE THOSE FACTS.

Prove to me that every TrueLock user has posted here after they've received a ticket and then I'll bow down to your Cult of TrueLock sheeplove. Until then, its absolutely irrelevant that it hasnt been reported on RD.net

Wow, quite a few responses!

First, Although my last two detectors have been Escort, I don't have any problem with the V1 and was strongly considering it when I made my latest purchase. I went with Escort just b/c they are what I was used to and my last one performed well. Next time I'm looking to buy, I will certainly keep open minded about the V1.

I had POP detection turned on and whatever the rest of the detections are that are off by default. I had never locked out that area with GPS filtering before (or any area within 50 miles of that location). I did not have music playing or anything that would have prevented me from noticing the alert.

He gave me the ticket for 15mph over, even though I was honestly going no more than 10 over. I was on a major highway. I saw him coming from the other direction and immediately slowed down to 5 over the speed limit (though I don't do the car nose dive or let them see my brake lights when I slow down). I drive an eclipse, so it does look like a sports car. I was also in the left lane (speeders lane) and after I saw him pass I flipped my blinker and merged into the right lane.

He came up and said, "any reason why you were speeding?" And I said, "I didn't think I was speeding." He walked away and came back with a ticket for 15 over. I then said, "can I ask how you clocked me?" He said "radar". I said, "that's funny, my detector never went off". He snapped back, "must be broken". I said thanks and went on my way.
