Do we actually know what the difference is in the various revisions?

Is there any way we can find out?

I have had over a dozen x50's blue's and red's in my car and it's really funny cause I have noticed that some have far better sensitivity/range than other's and the pop falsing seem's to be a lot worse on some x50's than it does on others, not sure mabey some of there assembly workers drink on the job! I have also noticed a differences in the filtering dept. as well.

I own my own online business plus I am also a titanium ebay powerseller and
sell a lot of electronics items on ebay, this is the reason I have access to so many! I basically kept the one that performed best out of all of em' the freak I guess you could say!!

    All unit's were rev. 5

Unit-to-unit variation is almost unavoidable. I've had it happen with cellphones and ham radios, too. I'll bet even the V1 has this issue.
