The nod goes to the RX65.

Well, there is a sacrifice between the 2 of them.

    The RX65 has...
    poor laser
    no full alerts
    KU band

    the x50 has...
    ok laser
    full alerts
    multithreat display

I am not a fan of the rx65 personally. The tones are sort of annoying to me, but that is personal preference. During short triggering tests in the car, the x50 was about a 1/5 detection with short triggering, while the rx65 was about 3/5 every time, which may be the most important part....

I would have to start recommending the rx65, I am just a sucker for the multithreat display on the x50.

I definitely agree that no one test should prove too much. Also different units in different situations perform differently. I simply said the rx65 because i own it and like the test results posted using it. However, a person who has used both probably knows more. It is true, any one of the big three will work 8)

Just got a RX65 and am shocked at the compact size. Much smaller than the X50 or V1.8. Will let you know how this little powerhouse detects Ka.

Actually Seth short triggering the way we were doing it was wrong because we were overloading the detector. When we did it with the X50 about 1/4 of a mile away it did MUCH better. I am sure the professor can add much more insight

WOW... VW242 has alot of good stuff. He has two V1's an X50 and a RX65 and a Blinder with Veil. It's all good to have though. You ought to do some private testing against radar encounters for us. Like the V1 vs RX65 or X50. Just mount one on one side of the windshield and one on the other side. You shouldn't get any interference if spaced apart .

X, K, KA, SWS and LASER. Basically every alert, there is a voice.
