Wow, you're brave. I couldn't buy a RD on e-bay. Glad it's working out.![]()

The X50 goes into Cal mode or Service Required now and then. All it seems to take is to unplug and plug back in.

Besides getting stuck in service required how would somebody know if it's not working correctly? I just ordered an X50 red as a replacement for a non working old passport. From above it it frequently went to service required but a "reboot" fixes it I'd be nervous it is actually performing correctly. My old one got starngely quiet as the only indictation. The confirmation was getting pulled over when I should have had plenty of warning with all the traffic ahead.
Your worries , as of my knowledge have not been confirmed. I too would also like to know if there is a way for the end user to reset the unit.
I'd like to know more on how the units all of a sudden go into calibration mode.
-Does the unit request this after a certain amount of uses?
- Actual problem
- Power issue

One thing I do like to do is run the X50 with scanning dots. Not totally foolproof, but it can let you know if if is frozen.
I have the blue x50 and the 9500. if you are short on cash the x50 will be fine
