Waiting for my 8500

Just ordered an 8500 x50 for my mazda 3 & was wondering if anyone here has hardwired this. Would i tap into the overhead map lights or run it down into fuse box. I'm hoping the overhead because for some reason my fuse box is under the hood (great design

Convertible? Is there a live wire in your mirror to tap into?

Map lights will be fine to tap into.
