Default 9500ix now includes Speed Traps!

In the weekly e-mail update from Escort, I just got this:

"For the past few months, you've counted on us to provide
you with the most up to date database of "Camera"
locations; now you can count on ESCORT to provide you
with a new national database of the top Speed Trap Locations!
Our new Defender database includes it all!

That's right, using only verified data, the Defender database
will add to your detector the top speed trap locations in North America."

Wonder where the speed trap data comes from?

Yeah, they've been doing that for three weeks now ...

Still have not seen anyone with a confirmed speed trap alert though ...

With the GPS so sophisticated, I would assume the next RD will have an active trap alert, allows you to, in real-time, mark a LEO's position. It would then be distributed to....your friends' 9500 instantly, for example. Yes it could be abused by putting a bottle of white out on the alert button, but maybe it would be road based and only alert within a specific radius. Who knows what Belcortline will come up with.

To the majority of people a speed trap is a cop car. Doesn't have to have anyone in it, nor does it have to be moving. I can just see it now...the 9500 will beep at EVERY Dunkin Donuts, just as the V1 alerts to EVERY CVS.

If Escort could come up with RD that would aleart at the top known speed trap locations (leo's tend to stay to their favorite spots...) along with arrows... I would buy it up in a second.

    One can dream, huh?

It uses arrows now to point to locations you mark as a speed trap.
