I think autolearn probably only unlearns the ones that it automatically set itself?
    I thought of that.

That's why I tested it under controlled conditions the 2nd time only using AutoLearn. So unless it unlocks when the signal isn't there after 20+ passes its not working to what they claim.

I did talk to an Escort rep before i sent in my ix and he stated that after 3 passes with no alert it will unlock the false. But that was after he said 2 other different ways it would do it. I may have inadvertently made the sales rep say the 3 passes by pressuring him for an answer like RadarKid did when he asked them about TrueLock.

This time when i call i will ask to speak to a programmer and try not to give him any of my opinions/knowledge.

Interesting. Did you completely erase your previously marked locations before testing? I wonder if that would make a difference.

I did the 2nd AutoLearn testing in a remote area miles from any new or original lock outs, so it shouldn't matter. I will continue testing but to have 2 out of 2 go bad is not a good start.
I will be erasing all of my previous lock outs at some point to start from scratch if Escort insists it unlocks signals after X# of passes. I'm going to call them again Monday.

Here is something I found interesting today .... I back up my locations after each database update. Since my last backup, my marked locations decreased by 2. Seems it's unlocking something ... .

I'm appending the # of backed up locations to the backup files so I can track it. Keep in mind ALL my locations are AutoLearn since I never manually mark or unmark anything, and I never roll with AutoLearn off.

I'm going to do some testing today with my 9500ix and X50. Hopefully I find something interesting .

Sweet, let us know. Maybe it requires multiple passes instead of ~3 to 10, IMO it should be only 3-4 because it would be safer. But I wouldn't mind if it was 10+ ether, as long as it unlocks at some point.
It also could be a marked location being removed from the database.

You know if you confirm yours is unlocking I will have to erase everything and start over with only using AutoLearn and put about 10,000 miles on my car.

    Default AutoLearn issue & lies.

    Hi All,
Im a new 9500ix owner and quite happy with the SILENCE as i stated in my first post at an earlier thread. I have some more confusing behaviour from the IX, There is a static speed sign (near a school) which is supposedly locked and saved by the IX and is silent 8/10 passes, but occasionally the IX will alert K band and Im pretty positive that there isnt any cop nearby (its a straight tree lined road) ..confusing because if it has marked the site, why does it go off?.

The other thing is that it screams KA band on a highway when I cant see anyone until the horizon ..Texas HWYs are long and straight most of the time ( no feeder business either) Is it super sensitive ..if so WOW, and another unanswered question, is it possible that most cops use I/O and the unit switches off when they make a stop because i see speed stops and flashng lights on FWY and my IX is silent. If they are usings I/O to sample speeds from cars ahead, how come the IX doesnt shout?

Is this a sensitivity issue or my expectation issue?
Im getting to know this unit and only thing I hear out of it is "redlight camera ahead"LOL.
To be fair, on the highway, when it shouts, It is right all the time maybe coz the HWY patrols leave their unit on when they make a stop.

Radar frequencies drift sometimes so this is what you are seeing, AutoLearn will lock out the drifted signal eventually.

Sounds like your sensitivity is real good. Depending on how far away they are a I/O blast may not shout unless they are close.

Most LEO's will turn there units off when pulled over. Every encounter is different and no 2 will be the same.

I wish I knew when it was unlocking ... it would be nice if the 9500ix would display "Unlocked" when AutoLearn unlocks one ... then we would not have to guess!

Today I did some testing with my 9500ix and X50 at the spot where I know, or thought I knew, the 9500ix was unlocking and re-locking a signal. It turns out it was a K speed sign in a residential area with all kinds of crazy drift ...

1st set of passes (9500ix), it read 24.154-5

    2nd set of passes (8500 X50), it read 24.132

3rd set of passes (9500ix), it read 24.121

4th set of passes (9500ix), it read 24.125

First three sets of passes were all within 30 minutes. Last set was about an hour later.

The speed sign was whacked out too, it always showed 40 mph no matter what my speed was, until one pass in my third set where it accurately showed 45 mph. I then came back around and passed it at 70 for kicks and it just showed 40 and flashed "slow down." Crazy.
