Angry escort 9500ix truelock got me a ticket

For everyone that has a escort 9500ix be careful with the auto learn. Here is my story how i got a speeding ticket and the escort 9500ix never made a sound. One day i was going to the local cvs store. I was driving in a 35 mph zone when my ix starts alerting me k band i drove for about 1 min then i see a leo he has a car already pulled over to the side of the road. So i passed the leo and the ix did its job. (went crazy) After i passed the leo the ix went off for another min. By this time i was in the parking lot for cvs which does have false lock outs from auto learn of k and x band. Now for the way back . This is where the trouble starts. I was driving down the same road i just came from and the ix didnt make a sound. With having auto learn on my ix already took care of all the false alerts. In this area its 3 k band lock outs and 2 x band lock outs. Then out of know where a leo comes behind me with with its lights on riding my rear bumper. I wasnt sure how fast i was driving. I was just going with traffic wasnt in a hurry. So i pull over and roll the window down and the officer says you know why i stopped you? I said no i dont . He says i was sittting in a parking lot to your left about a 1 mile down the road. When i clocked you going 55 in a 35. I then asked how he got my speed and he said radar. I then asked what type of radar he was using he said it was k band c/o and i was just sitting their waiting for someone to speed by me. So i got all my papper work for the officer and i was sitting their and then i noticed my gps icon spinning. It was still locking out this radar even know i wasnt in a known lockout area. So i turned the gps off and unplugged my ix and plugged it back in. Now it goes crazy alerting me k band with the leo sitting behind me writing me my ticket. So the officer comes back to my car and hands me a ticket for 50 in a 35 took 5 mph off . $ 165.00 and 2 points now im wondering why my ix didnt alerting me of the leo. And why the ix locked out his radar. I think the auto learn locked the leo out when i went passed him the frist time. Even know it has to be 3 passes or more to lock out a false with auto learn. Im not sure i dont trust auto learn anymore and i just mute all my false alerts now. I do all my updates and i was using v 1.1 note: even when i turned the gps back on and the leo was following me after giving me a ticket the ix still locked out his radar when we were driving down the road . I still use my ix everyday. But dont ever lock anything out anymore. I cleared all my lock out locations. And i turn auto learn off. One ticket is one to many.

ps I didnt write this to dog on the ix i just want people to be careful out their. And know the risk of using auto learn or locking out false alerts. I think the ix is a great detector with good range. And i still use my ix everyday.

Yeah this has happened to me which is why on cities that use K band i turn off gps filtering and know their only one k band that's really close to the road that my 9500ix detects so i use expert meter and wait for the second signal and look until their 2 signals that's when i slow down the other good thing is it will go crazy once it detects strong k band it just goes solid tone but with the door openers it beeps slowly it should have a k band mute for weak signals, other thing i dont like that it will filter from much farther where theirs no doors in sight.

I just posted on this exact subject. TrueLock is terrible!!!!! Worst addition ever. I can't post URL's yet, but take a look at my post under the Escort section listed today.

I am wondering if you are better off manually locking out falses. The reason I am saying this is that you saw a cop in the area, typically if there is a cop anywhere near lock out areas you will not lock him out knowing he is there.

Certainly sounds legit. I'm curious if you think this was the same LEO that you detected on the way to the store, or was it a different LEO.

It was the same Leo his number on his car was 324 that's how I know. I think I will just turn off the gps for now. We don't have any redlight camera's here in Indiana or speed camera's. The closes location would be Chicago,IL which has tons but that is a two hour drive for me. So I guess their is no reason to have the gps on don't trust the lock outs and don't have redlight or speed camera's
