In other situations have you had much better range? If not then I would send it back for repair. The range you showed were not that great.

They look purple when wearing polarized sunglasses. They're usually on high end cars and Pontiacs for some reason.
True, but some do allow C/O mode. Also, a LEO could have his mounted radar antenna pointed straight sideways, so that he can sit perpindicular to the road and monitor speeds. In this instance, detection range would be less than normal.
I wouldn't do anything at all, based solely on this encounter. What does it do normally? If this detection range is normal for your 9500ix, then yes, I would send it in. If this was some sort of anamoly, then of course, I wouldn't. Z1NONLY has a pretty guess at what might have happened, which would be no fault of your 9500ix.
Z1nonly is prob right. the white car was prob blocking the signal. I get pretty good singal strength from false k and x from stores I drive pass I know ka is the hardest to detect. However when going pass a false x or k I never get full bars or a soild tone even when driving right pass the doors. I don't think this is saying much tho
If it was FF Ka, into the back of that car, this encounter looks pretty good to me.
As for your lack of full signal alerts when driving by falses..... welcome to the M4 platform.
When the C/O radar source is ahead of me, including hiding behind a hill or the like, I am confident my 9500ix will sniff it out.
When the source is off at an angle, like door opener falses and around the curve LEO's, my confidence level is luke-warm at best.
I also think the 9500ix can miss sneaky quick-trigger pulls, but the LEO has to put in some effort for that.
Form my next road trip, I intend to use my V1 until I get off the interstate. -The ix from the interstate to my destination. - and the V1 with Ka False-Alarm-Guard off when I am running on the side of the mountain.
(I want to know about every signal -Cobra or not- ASAP -before I see it coming around the next turn.)
For my trip to Milwaukee after this summer, I will start using the ix in the first state thet uses speed cams. (I will research that when the trip gets closer.)

X2, we tend to forget radar can be blocked in part or whole. Worry when you see an active trap and your alert is poor. I have seen videos like the dozens of times, and a week later they encounter 1+ mile range with a real encounter.
If the radar is being blocked or off axis just enough not only will it do him no good but your RD wont pick it up well ether.![]()
