Also, can we expect to see Escort's sister company, Beltronics announce a detector similar to the Redline?
My bet is the RedLine is a test to see how well its received and at some point a RedLine-ix will be made once we beat it up a bit. IMO the RedLine was made to show they can make a dash mount unit that has better sensitivity than the V1.
Beltronics already has the RedLine=STi. Basically the RedLine is the STi.
FWIW, I asked and received this reply from Escort:

Subject: Re: Introducing ESCORT RedLine--Maximum Range Radar Detector!
Dear ,
Thank you for your email.
This product was created for the driver that only cares about raw performance. While I agree that the features and benefits of the 9500ix's AutoLearn and Defender Database are way too important to go without--there were many customers that just want to know about all signals out there, and from the furthest distance.
At the same time, we wanted to retain the Stealth capabilities (the Redline is undetectable by radar detector detectors).
Just a different product for a different driver.
Best Regards,
Rachel
