Under 25mph has one blip of whatever it detected then mutes it completely. This cannot be turned off. The auto mute is where it sounds an alert at full volume for a few seconds then cuts it in half. Auto/Highway do not affect the 25mph muting.

The only time I've seen the signal fluctuating and no sound is 25mph or below.

At below 25 it give a single alert and then mutes. If you are only doing 25 or less no reason to give an audible alert (at least that their logic). I would like it at a lower level but not fully muted myself.

If you were doing 40 something sounds funny with the unit.

Excellent info. I remember getting the speed alert display in the high 30's. Maybe from the time the ix received the signal and the time I accelerated was enough of a difference to cause the ix to stay silent.

Now I know what to be aware of and will give confirmation if I encounter this again.

I guess this means if you have an ix, keep an eye on your display.

    I'll update when I can.

ah yes, its possible that the under 25mph filtering didn't alert till you were next to the LEO. May have been because GPS was too slow in your quick accelerating..
