    Default 9500ci latest firmware (v1.5)

Anyone else apply this and get some odd behavior?

I had my front heads catch a false or two from sun glare off of chrome trim (not uncommon), but what startled me is that instead of saying "front Laser, shifting" it yelled out "POP ALERT". I don't even have POP enabled in the bands setting.

Firmware bug? Or should I reset the config to default and re-setup the options after installing a new firmware? (If so this isn't documented anywhere...)

Apologies, I didn't see any obvious discussion on the first few pages of this section so I ASSumed it hadn't been discussed... I'm so used to forums that have broken search engines (the two big ones I frequent are HORRIBLE) so I forget to search.

Move along, nothing to see here.

I'm waiting for 1.6, 1.5 is a good update but it includes 1.4 which had the voice issue.

Like someone else stated it could be worse, it could announce "Powering Down"

Is it just me or v1.5 "improved GPS response" causes the opposite effect of the intended? My 9500ci aquires GPS signal noticeable slower than before
    It's quite annoing

GPS response and GPS initial acquisition are two different things. The time it takes from when you power on the 9500ci to when it acquires GPS signal (satellite icon stays solid), GPS acquisition, should not be effected by the latest firmware. GPS acquisition is greatly effected by obstructions. If you consistently see slow GPS acquisition then try mounting your GPS antenna temporarily in another area. If it doesn't speed up acquisition then it may need serviced.

    Thanks for your reply.
My GPS antenna is located in perfect, unobstructed place (sunroof) and with 1.4 software acquired signal just immediately - the cold start took 30-60 sec, the warm start a few seconds. Now with 1.5 it takes a few minutes. I'll return to the v1.4 and see if acquisition speed will be back to what I remember it was.

I am having a similar issue with my 9500ci. The new update seems to have extended acquisition time to up to 5 minutes! This is a fairly new unit that was working flawlessly before this latest update. Anyone else having issues?
