Best of both worlds. I'm one very happy kid right about now.
Will post reviews after using V1 for a month. I had Redline for 2 months now.

I love V1 Zombies they can't accept that there is a detector that has a longer range than the V1. Face it if you look at the bar graphs in the review the redline has longer range. ( review may be flawed but that is another story )I have yet to hear anybody claim the V1 is a longer range detector than the redline other than the second reply in this thread. Even radarroy tested this across many miles in road trips and said the Redline although not always a huge difference alearted 80 percent of the time sooner than the V1.
Is the V1 better in Q/T YES.. I/O probably, Laser for sure! but range sorry man that is a no.

But not to say the V1 isn't a great detector cause it is, they are both great units but designed very differently and as such they each have their strong points
Redline
Pros Extreme Range, Stealth, Filtering
V1
Pros Very good range, very good Q/T detection, excellent I/O detection, top notch laser detection.... oh and yes if I forgot V1'ers would kill me the arrows!!
Overall is the V1 better than redline probably I would have a V1 if I didn't live in the communist province of Ontario. But range I would say redline is tops there.
^^This is a good summarization. Add best ramp up for the V1.
As for us zombies, we have accepted the Redline as well as the 9500ci and other Belscort RDs that use the M3 antenna have better overall sensitivity. However, overall sensitivity alone doesn't make a radar detector king. Other factors such as reactivity (depending on where you live) have to be taken into consideration.
agreed they are both great detectors in their own right. If the V1 was stealth I would be running a V1. But in Ontario where these units are banned I have very few choices. And you might as well get the longest range you can and stealth are the best protection you can buy in banned areas.
The fact that many so called zombies use a 9500ci as well as their V1 says it all ... if the V1 was "the greatest" then they would not need an Escort backing it up.
Features get the short shrift by zombies too. Escorts features are superior to the V1's. AutoMute is one of the best things ever added to a radar detector for example. Living without it is pure hatred. I miss the arrows, but I HATED not having AutoMute.
So an Escort misses a Q/T shot at your car ... V1 alerts ... you get a ticket either way. Q/T is only going to save you if you happen to pick up a shot up the road aimed at someone else, same as I/O. I'd wager Q/T saves are the lowest percentage of radar saves out there, V1 or not ... and I guarantee range saves will easily outrank Q/T saves. That said, it is something Escort needs to address.
