    Default ANX

I just tried auto-nox mode on Redline yesterday. Seems to filter K band pretty well. I was going to work this morning and went past the usual K-band speed sign, which was filtered, then it suddenly went to full alert on K-band, and stayed there. I was thinking, "damn, what is wrong with this thing?". Then I saw the parked cop 200 feet away.

Seems to work great - will leave it that way for a week.

I assume that Ka is still at full sensitivity on ANX (?)

You assume correctly. Ka radar detection is not effected by City or Auto modes on any of our products.

I just turn my x off and go with the auto setting in the city that seem to work pretty good. I love it how it can pick up even in the city. I was about 1 mile away and Ka 33.7 went off and I couldn't see where he was at but he was at the gas station getting some gas and left his radar on.

I have to say Escort's Auto mode on the Redline is great at cutting down on K band falses. It's nice to have after using older Bels/Escorts that didn't filter K at all.

Auto mode on the RedLine seems to be much improved.

Does auto (or auto no x) filter K band on the 9500ix?

I would assume ANX is the same on all Escorts, so, yes.
I have been running around with ANX for the last week and see a noticeable decline in K falses.

There is a K-band speed sign that I drive by each morning, and with ANX enabled, it waits an extra few hundred feet before giving up and blaring K-band. I also notice that weak, but sustained signals also 'punch through' on ANX mode. I was sitting at a stop light where I usually (with Highway mode) get a false from a local Target store. If I am at the red light for awhile, it eventually starts to alert. Once it decides to alert for a particular signal, it continues to alert until the signal is gone.

Overall, I'm guessing my K band falses have been reduced by around 80% with ANX enabled. Seems like the way to go.

Both auto, and auto no x filters K band, and quite intelligently.

I am curious and want to learn.

With the 9500IX I can see how Auto works with knowing the speed of the vehicle though GPS.

How do the non-GPS units detect the difference between highway and city use?

User manually puts it in Highway or Auto mode.
