That wont help we have tested this with the V1 in not the same car still leaked and made ix not go off till the last sec
Ya its a loosing battle, the only way i have seen it work and be acceptable is with an M3 RD up front and the V1 as far back behind it as possible. There will still be some interference, but its minimal and will perform ok most of the time.
9500ix will really mess with the V1 and vice versa.

Yeah, why can't they get along....

Its so sad that I'll have to ditch my RX65(S7) when the time comes... I'll miss the audio alerts...

I've been charting visually verified max range Ka alerts over the past two years on biweekly desert runs (generally flat with hilly terrain every 10-20 miles) for each of my detectors:

    8500 X50 ≈ 2 miles

    9500ix ≈ 2.4 miles

    Redline ≈ 3.2 miles

i made a short 60 mile trip today from new orleans. To my surprise, i picked up no less than 4 cops with KA band in the first 30-40 miles. 3 with C/O coming the opposite direction.

After seeing so many i decided to measure distance. since it was .7 miles when we crossed and assuming he was going about the same speed that means 1.4 miles away.

the 2 other constant ons were closer but i didnt measure. id guess about a half mile.

all KA band. one i never saw even though the rd was going nuts for a couple of mins. i have no idea where he was but it was open interstate. it was at least 2 miles away when it began.

needless to say i drove just about the speed limit the entire time.

oh wait i should add that one had already pulled over a big rig. the detector didnt go off until i was right up on him completely blocked by the truck in front. they were headed opposite direction and cop was outside of car writing up his ticket.

that was rather disappointing. i was almost even with him before it alerted at all. i didnt think a truck could shield so well especially given it was a straightaway.

    Antonr,

I just received my 9500ix yesterday (I do 50% city driving so decided on that over the V1).

On the way to work this morning I picked up a LEO about 1/4 of a mile away. He was round a curve, on a side road at a 90 deg angle to the road. The 9500ix went off once about a 1/4 mile away and again when I got to him.

somewhat troubling range. passed a cop (i refuse to use LEO) facing same direction in a parking lot handling a wreck. My ix went off as I came up a slight hill about 1/8th a mile from him. he was pointed off to the right a bit so its understandable.

He left his gun on while handling matters so i turned around about a mile away and headed back. The ix didnt pick anything up until I was right on him. He was shooting KA band and ground was level coming from other way. It almost had better range from the rear once i passed it than when approaching.

I finally get a V1 this weekend and will start comparing the results.

I am getting adequate range, plenty of time to slow down. I'll measure and post, haven't actually checked the distance.
