Unhappy Detector Tools does NOT work with the new Windows 7 SP 1.

After installing Windows 7 (64-bit) Professional Service Pack 1, the latest Detector Tools would not work. I spoke with Escort support today, and they confirmed that there is a driver problem with SP-1. Although they are a licensed partner with M$FT and are supposed to be kept compatible, the problem was created by SP-1. I was told M$FT is working on the problem and Escort will send an email to registered users when it is fixed. It will not involve changing Detector Tools app. I tried running in XP compatibility mode, uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. It's a Windows 7 driver issue. For now, I use another computer running either Vista or XP to do my updates.

Did you install SP-1 before you ran it? Mine ran fine until Windows 7 Update installed SP-1. Escort support confirms the problem.

I think that because you have the (64 bit) is where you run into problem.

Hmmm. Maybe it's the 64-bit version only, though the Escort rep. just said Windows 7 SP-1.

Have you ask them about the bits yet?

Escort said they will update Detector Tools and notify subscribers by email when the driver issue is solved. It affects the 64-bit version. Also, I have no other problems with Win 7 64; my notebook has 8GB RAM and a fast processor and cache. The 64-bit version can use up to 8 GB (not as another swap file); the 32-bit OS can use up to 4 GB RAM. I might uninstall SP-1 if Escort's fix is not ready by the time I am away from my XP machine.

64bit is much better, and faster than 32bit an has absolutely no problems, we are not in the xp days anymore.
