9500ix problems, PLEASE HELP!

I live in a small town also. Mine doesn't go off that much either. I run in Expert, Highway,Autolearn on,X off, or if i get in congested area i switch no AutoNoX until i clear the area,on the highway i turn GPS off. I get alerts around curves up to at least a mile. It stays on the Highway setting most of the time.

Great advice, thanks guys... If these dont seem to work do you guys think it would be worth it to send it into escort for a tune up? The software on it has never been updated, think this may work??

I've read TSR (traffic sensor rejection) that's part of the update actually delays the k band response. It's not necessary if you don't have a problem with traffic drones.

If you're still having trouble, I recommend calling escort to explain the problem. I noticed an improvement from auto no x to highway mode. Also, you can disable x band in detector tools on your pc if you don't want its alerts.

Yes, at the top of the thread, click thread tools, subscribe to the thread, then select instant emails for notification type. I've never done it, but it should work.

I bought it new, at least it was said to be new and in original packaging. I got it off eBay though so who really knows. I drive a dodge ram lifted 2 inches and I have it mounted just left of the rearview and just under the tint strip. There is never any ramp up it just starts going crazy whenever I can see the LEO. Usually its not instant on because I will pass the cop and the detector will start to go off pretty close to him and then I will pass him again through town and its the same story. Its so frustrating. I actually got pulled over doing 79 in a 55 a week ago and had my license taken as collateral to contact the court and pay my fine within 14 days. When this happened I was going around a VERY slight turn on a highway and the detector didnt go off until I could see the troopers front end come around the turn.

Fleabay is really risking big time in my opinion when buying electronic devices.

Best thing to do find you a radar sign and test it there and try different options and see how that works.

When I got my ix it took me a while to figure out and I would get alerts right on top of LEO's not knowing the difference in LEO tactics I/O,Q/T,C/O, etc.... once you figure this out then you'll know how well your ix works.

Sounds like you might have open space where you live I would recommend a CB if you don't have one this counter measure device will smoke any detector.
