Default Arrows in my 9500ix on speed traps, why not for bogies?????

I am sure this is a dumb question. But after my upgrade I have been noticing my ix has been pointing with arrows toward speed traps and follows them as i turn away. OK so why can't it be programmed to show direction of threats??? (As in radar)

You need a minimum of two antennas in correct orientation with a correct algorithm for that information, the 9500ix has none of those requirements... only two units on the market do.

Furthermore... no detector on the market shows you the direction of the threat.

Thanks i knew it was a dumb question but with GPS capability I was wondering if it could figure it out if it knew it's position and analyze the signal. But another horn would be needed to compare the signal i guess and or direction.
Thanks for the answer makes sense now!!!!

That's why the V1 has 2 antennas. The patents on the V1 arrow and dual-antenna system expired recently, so it is possible that Belscort could add this feature to a future detector. Possible, don't know how likely though...

I noticed the arrows after the last update too (for speedtraps). It is a nice feature.

It's funny (not) that they come out w/ a new FCC ID just after the expiration of V1's patent but they didn't accomplish $hit except for those residing in foreign countries (not talking about arrows, but it would be nice). The little douche on their website boasts that their product is "Made in North America". Well, START CATERING TO US WHO LIVE IN NORTH AMERICA!!! ie: ramp-up on current products, band segmentation. You can do it on the STi products but not on Escort products??? Also, I fear the day when they say "We can no longer service S7 products". I'll probably kiss their a$$ and buy two reman X-50's just to have them being that they are S7's, because I'm sure once their gone, their gone... Let the people who live overseas build their own $hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
