TSL, as one of the first people to join the forum, i've seen many GOL results, and they are completely trustworthy. They're completely unbiased and tell exactly what was done in each test and what settings were used on the detectors.

I trust them enough to have shipped my $300+ radar detector to them for testing, so I certainly trust their results.

Different testing methods will reveal different strengths and weaknesses with various models. GOL's tests are some of the most difficult for the detectors imaginable. In almost any circumstance you'd encounter on the road, the S2 would likely be plenty good enough. In Roy's tests it came up only .3 miles shorter on Ka warning than the X50. Roy's test is straight five mile stretch of roadway located in the desert with the radar pointed directly at the radar detector. The GOL test with the S2 was done with the radar pointed up, an extremely difficult detection.

Of course it's up to you to take the tests for whatever you feel they're worth, but i'd read some of the GOL tests carefully. I feel that they're about as unbiased as they can get.

Well he implied I was calling them a liar, that is his problem.

I'm sure they are trustworthy, I was just meaning that they were 2 different tests and completely different results. I'm not knocking them at all, trust me. I'm sure it doesn't fair as well if you are in a lot of hills and whatnot but where I am everything is basically flat and whatnot. Which is why I trust Roy's results more since they are more related to real-life situations such as mine.

I find it entertaining that GOL and Roy are being pitted against each other. I've never heard of Roy being anything but supportive of the GOL and their results, and I've never once heard anyone associated with the GOL say one bad word about Roy.
